Dane Zielinski-Nicolson is an IoT Systems engineer for Roobuck with a background in Mechatronics Engineering and Physics and a passion for embedded/cloud based software design and large scale data analysis. Dane has a focus on innovation in industry through cutting edge research and development and has worked on a variety of large scale academic-industry linkage projects, notably including the Roobuck/UNSW DeepIoT for underground mines CRC-P and a Boeing-UNSW composite materials micro mechanics project. At Roobuck, his work focuses on developing a standardised, IoT platform based on opensource and non-proprietary technologies. This platform can communicate with thousands of wearable devices and sensors simultaneously for the purposes of personnel/inventory tracking, collision avoidance and radiation detection to improve safety and efficiency in underground mines.
